Updating Warehouse Inventory Manually

Overview

In this guide, we will go over how to update Warehouse inventory manually.

In an ideal world, you shouldn’t need to update inventory manually. Inventory will update when you create batches or will automatically update when products are received, manufactured, or sold.

This tutorial is for you if you need to adjust inventory because:

  • A different quantity arrived than expected

  • Someone accidentally typed in the wrong quantity originally

  • More inventory is found in the warehouse

  • Products have expired

  • Products are damaged

  • Products are lost

Who Can Update Warehouse Inventory?

Users with the “Administrate Legrande System” permission can do anything in the warehouse system. By default, the following user roles have that permission turned on:

  • Admin

Updating Inventory Manually

1. Open the Warehouse page within the blue side nav-bar.

2. Find your product in the Warehouse

For this example, we’ll manually adjust the inventory for Two-Eye Cataract Kits.

Find your product within the Warehouse list and click on it.

3. Adjust Quantity

On the individual product’s page, click on “Adjust Quantity.”

It will open a pop-up that looks like this:

4. Fill Out Fields for Adjustment or Spoilage

The form will ask you to mark whether inventory is being updated for adjustment or spoilage.

Update fields, then click “Submit.”

Reasons for choosing “Adjustment”

  • Different quantity arrived than expected

  • Someone accidentally typed in the wrong quantity originally

  • More inventory is found in the warehouse

Reasons for choosing “Spoilage”

  • Expired products

  • Damaged products

  • Lost products

If all went according to plan, you can now update inventory manually in the event that minor changes need to be made.
